a) Stork meets OpenNCP: new developments planned

Dear all
Speaking in name of iUZ and Gnomon, we are pleased to inform the openNCP community that we will be conducting new technical developments to extend the openNCP and associated portal infrastructure with Stork based Authentication mechanism, to be deployed next 23rd June.
After an initial approach at last Vienna’s Connectathon and further common discussions held during the eHealthForum 2014 event in Athens, Gnomon and iUZ have presented a Joint Proposal to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health for the following integration of STORK with OpenNCP Liferay portal:
1. Each country has to set up a STORK application and integrate it with national authentication mechanism;
2. Then in OpenNCP portal, when a user needs to login he will be redirected to the STORK website instead of the embedded login portlet;
3. The STORK website will handle the authentication and then go back to OpenNCP Liferay portal with the needed information (i.e in a SAML assertion format);
4. The OpenNCP Portal has to trust this and proceed with the login.
Considering that the proposal states that “User Acceptance Test and processes will be based on openNCP community methodology” and “Developed components will be made available to openNCP community under OSS licensing terms”, we would like to know if you see any inconvenience on this approach.
Given the critical moment we are facing regarding the discussions around openNCP community sustainability, we strongly believe this approach could provide the openNCP community an opportunity to test its procedures and openness beyond epSOS project.

- Governance Model is key for having alignment from industry and other participants
- OpenNCP Methods and tools should be used to keep everything together and aligned.

- Just Liferay? will there be any changes in other components?
- At this moment only the OpenNCP Portal will receive changes.
- Further information should be considered for assuring Stork specs full alignment.

b) OpenNCP Community Future/Manifesto
- OpenNCP > Vision and Mission (needs review)
- VISION
- ...design and develop a set of Open Source Components (OpenNCP) that can be adopted by Participating Nation (are there any other clients???, other organizations, other scopes), to build their local implementation of the epSOS NCP (any other projects,).
- How to deal with different nature of interests (countries, regions, projects and industry)
- There is a list of 40 projects running in EU HealthCare - EHR4CR.... reuse the OpenNCP
- MISSION
- ...Open group of people orchestrated by an agile software development methodology conducting effort on designing, coding, testing and delivering OpenNCP technology
- Future of the OpenNCP Community
- Alexander Berler (Unlicensed): has added structural changes to the document so that it can be more MANIFESTO like document;
- Effort estimation: need to be clarified with some text explaining what it means and other things/cost that should be considered for
- CENTRAL Promoter: who will handle agreements (centrally, bilaterally)... what should be done there?

- Central model? Like epSOS... one contracting authority....
- Licinio Kustra Mano: Circulation of the document restricted to the OpenNCP Community:
- Circulate a new version of the document for review.

- In a near future we need to have a cost estimate...(time, effort, money)...
- Depending on how many Countries will join the effort, the cost will not be significantly regarding the value that the OpenNCP can provide for each country or project;
- Per Participating Nation contribution, an estimate of investment in different scenarios 5 PN interest ---- 10 PN interest)
- More PN involved, will lower individual countries investment.
- Projects can also be considered as clients or industry player (for research and investigation);

c) epSOS Final NEPC/TMP message

- Certifcates - NCP Installation
.... need to contact with Thomas....- The suggestion from epSOS is to buy extension of the certificates, expiration date could be 3 years from now.....
- epSOS will try to inform PNs on their schedule for renew
- AU: is willing to join the epSOS PPT environment or something else PPT environment?
- If yes, the certificate requirements should be compliant epSOS specs.

- but for a PPT or CAT event, they need to have valid certificates;
- CI Migration
- PT (already been approved by the epSOS PSB, DEC2013), IHE (manifestation of interest), eGOvLab (meeting)
- iUZ is hosting and managing it....
